2) To contribute to the creation of a culture of volunteer service As part of our efforts to promote the creation of
  a culture of volunteerism, Mirae Asset launched a social service team to encourage employees to offer their
  time and efforts to worthy causes. In addition, we aim to spread this culture of voluntary service throughout
  society to support people in their efforts to share with less fortunate people in their communities.
   
3) To globalize the Korean economy by developing talented people in finance In aiming to become a global
  specialist in finance, Mirae Asset seeks to foster the development of talented finance personnel.
  To this end, the Company has put in place a human resources development program that will recruit and train
  300 persons over a ten year period, starting in 2006.
In recognizing the important social role that corporations play in society, we are taking the initiative to share with people by giving back to communities. The Park Hyeon Joo Foundation, a social welfare foundation to which Mirae Asset donated KRW7.5 billion in March, 2000, works to make the world healthier and brighter as a place in which people can live together in harmony.

Social Service Activities
  The voluntary social service activities of Mirae Asset’s employees are an important part of the Company’s social contributions to society. Backed by Mirae Asset’s supportive corporate culture, employees put into practice their love and caring for neighbors through volunteer service activities, which are organized by the headquarters/departments/teams/branches. Service activities include free meals, bathing services, and the delivery of briquettes to welfare facilities for children, senior citizens and the handicapped. Company volunteers also participate in the building of homes for Habitat for Humanity and Mirae Asset Securities’“one company, one rural village”programs. Scholarships for College Students
  Mirae Asset offers scholarships for the yearly tuition fees of selected students. Students in financial need who demonstrate a strong drive and passion for studying are eligible for the scholarships, which Mirae Asset offers to encourage promising individuals to seek their dreams. Mirae Asset believes in giving support to young people as they are the future of the nation and will one day take on the responsibility of leading the country. Thus, Mirae Asset scholarships are intended to allow students to concentrate on their studies without the stress of financial worries to slow their progress. In addition, to stay abreast of changes in a global era, we extended our scholarship programs to exchange students in 2007.
Supporting Teenaged Heads of Families
  Mirae Asset ‘s Park Hyeon Joo Foundation conducts social welfare support activities for teenaged heads of low-income families. The foundation strives to be a strong supporter of such children by forming family-like ties while sharing love and care through various support activities such as the charity giving for living expenses, free meals, and rice at the end of each year. The goal of the foundation in supporting the children is to lead them to become good citizens of society.
Support of Social Welfare Facilities
  Mirae Asset offers monetary support to financially troubled social welfare facilities and its employees give their time and effort through volunteer activities as part of Mirae Asset’s efforts to improve living conditions for disadvantaged families. Mirae Asset continues to put vigorous efforts into making society a better place to live through the support of social welfare facilities, sisterhood ties with orphanages and donations of books and computers to low-income families.
   

The Mirae Asset Scholarship Program for Global Investment Specialists is a social contribution program created by Mirae Asset in response to changes in the Korean financial industry. Mirae Asset recognizes the importance of developing the skills

and capabilities of talented people who will one day lead the nation’s financial industry. Through this program, over a ten-year period, Mirae Asset will send 300 scholarship students to top universities and MBA programs to learn specialized knowledge to become global investment experts. The students are eligible for up to US$50,000 in scholarships and are given opportunities to work in internship programs at Mirae Asset’s overseas offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, China and India with a view to building firsthand experience and to strengthening their understanding of global financial environments.
